ASTM A182 F316L Stainless Steel Forged Tubesheet
Product Introduction
Forged F316L Tube Sheets for Pressure-Bearing Heat Transfer Equipment
ASTM A182 F316L Tubesheet is a forged stainless steel component used to secure heat exchanger tubes and separate or control process-side fluids within shell-and-tube equipment.
Manufactured from 316L austenitic stainless steel, the tubesheet combines corrosion resistance with good weldability and is suitable for equipment exposed to moisture, chlorides and a range of process fluids.
The tubesheet can be supplied with precision-machined tube holes, shell-side sealing surfaces, pass-partition grooves and bolt holes according to heat exchanger drawings. Tube hole diameter, pitch, layout and drilling tolerance can be controlled according to the required tube-to-tubesheet joining method.
Depending on the equipment design, tube holes can be prepared for roller expansion, seal welding, strength welding or expanded-and-welded tube joints.

Product Features
Tube holes are CNC machined according to specified diameter, pitch, positional tolerance and tube-sheet layout.
The tube sheet can be prepared for mechanical expansion, seal welding, strength welding or combined expansion and welding.
F316L stainless steel provides molybdenum-containing austenitic metallurgy for improved resistance to localized corrosion compared with conventional 304L stainless steel.
Pass-partition grooves and gasket seating areas can be machined according to the required fluid-flow arrangement.
Heat number traceability, PMI and material certification can be provided for pressure equipment projects.
Typical Applications
Shell & Tube Heat Exchangers
Fixed Tubesheet Heat Exchangers
Floating Head Heat Exchangers
Process Coolers
Condensers
Reboilers
Feedwater Heaters
Chemical Process Equipment
Pharmaceutical Process Equipment
Desalination Equipment
Typical Tube-to-Tubesheet Joints
Tube ends are expanded against the tube holes to create mechanical contact and sealing.
A weld is applied at the tube-to-tubesheet interface when additional leakage protection is required.
The tube is welded to the tubesheet to form a structural tube joint.
Mechanical expansion is combined with seal welding for applications requiring both mechanical retention and enhanced sealing.
